Settling in at Port Douglas

It was a lazy morning for all, catching up and making plans, and it was 11.00 before we set out in our cars (ours a family Volkswagon, and J and Grumps a wee 4-door) with the grandkids sharing rides with J and Grumps. We drove up Flagstaff Hill to the lookout for the great view down Four Mile Beach, though not at its best with very grey skies. After a wander up and down the main street checking out the shops, we picked up a few more supplies, then headed back to the Oaks Lagoons.
After lunch in our upstairs two-bedroom apartment, we retired to the loungers on J and Grumps's patio and opposite, with the pool in between. Although no sun, it was very warm so we all whiled away a couple of hours reading, chatting, in the pool and with the odd snooze. Enjoyed dinner on the TREBS balcony and a fairly early night for all.
