Camper van and Caloundra

Saturday 5th June - Brisbane to Caloundra

Everyone was very excited as we packed up from our apartment and headed off by people mover to pick up the camper van. After an hour of being shown the ropes we hit the road, only to drive 10 minutes to DFO for some retail therapy. Then it was an hour or so driving north via Steve Irwin Way to Caloundra, the kids laughing and bouncing around in the back and Mum and Dad enjoying the ride up front. At Caloundra we checked in to the Dicky Beach Holiday Park, checked out the beach then settled down for a Pimms and nibbles followed by our first camper van meal. There was high excitement when it came to bedtime with all three being in the top deck bed, so it took a little settling down. The camper van itself is awesome, very modern, heaps of storage, and very well equipped - perfect for TREBSontour!

Sunday 6th June - relaxing at Caloundra

A very early rise and shine - think the top deck is going to take some getting used to for the kids! However, seems that it is all pretty early to bed and early to rise in these holiday parks. Not that many families around, but heaps of SADs (Seeing Australia before they Die), love that acronym from Dirt Music! A beautiful day so headed to the beach and Dad and the kids did some body surfing and the kids some castle building. The beach is absolutely beautiful, very fine golden sand, and stretching up the coast to Moolooloba.
A lazy afternoon around camp, bit of a walk, before dinner and an early night.
